the solo hot girl summer bucket list

It’s Friday, and it’s 95 degrees outside today. We’re still a week away from it officially being summer time, but I’m ready to declare the season!

A million events, parties and gatherings pop up in the summer, but you won’t always have someone to go with.

You won’t always have a friend group to participate in the things you find. And that definitely shouldn’t stop you from having a great time this season.

You deserve a hot girl summer, even if that is spent by yourself this year. So if you’re trying to think of what a solo summer will look like, here’s the ultimate bucket list for you!

solo hot girl summer bucket list

go to the pool or beach.

A solo pool or beach trip sounds immaculate when it’s hot outside, and you’re looking for something to do.

You can pack all your favorite snacks and drinks. You can wear a cute swimsuit and take some selfies. You can lay out by the water and tan in the sun. You can go for a swim and cool off.

There’s something so relaxing about laying by the pool or feeling the breeze on a beach.

And I think being able to go at your own pace and enjoying the time without being bothered is one of the best ways to do it.

explore a rooftop.

Rooftops will always have my heart. The views, the drink in your hand, the breeze from above.

All of it makes me so emotional thinking about it, but also sad that I’m not writing this on a rooftop right now.

If there’s a rooftop in your city, choose an afternoon or evening to watch the sunset or go to a rooftop party. It’s such a fun and girly summer activity.

If you do some research, you might even be able to find certain nights where there’s a DJ playing or a planned event that will be more of a party vibe.

go to a concert or festival.

So many people go to concerts alone, especially if your favorite artist is in town. Concerts in the summer are so elite, and I encourage you to find someone you like that’s coming to your city this year!

It could be a big musician who’s playing in a stadium. Or it could be an indie artist who’s playing in an outside venue around you. Maybe it’s a last minute find of someone you haven’t heard of but want to explore.

There may be some festivals that you can go to as well! They are mostly in the summer, and it’ll be so fun to dress up and spend a couple days jamming out to music all day.

Go to the concert or festival, girl. You’ll hardly ever regret it, and it’s a fun way to spend a summer day or night.

dance, karaoke, twerk, etc. in your room.

I love love, love having a dance party in my room.

I’ll set the mood by putting on a cute, comfy outfit. I’ll grab my headphones or speaker. I’ll maybe even pour some wine and light a candle and really get the party going.

And one of the perks of living alone is being able to sing as loudly as I want to my favorite songs. Here’s a playlist to get you started if you need some inspo: self love playlist: 28 best songs to boost confidence.

plan a solo picnic.

Picnics are so cute and romantic. What better way to spend a morning or afternoon than eating your favorite foods in nature?

Maybe bring your speaker, or pack some things to paint and sip with.

I also love the idea of planning to watch the sunrise or sunset, as long as you’re safe and not isolated in the dark.

go to the movies.

Is it just me, or are we in a really good season for movies lately? I’ve gone to the movies more times in the past couple months than I have in the last year or two.

I randomly woke up feeling sad a couple weeks ago, and went to a 9am screening of Obsession, so I mean it when I say I’m one of the biggest fans of going to the movies solo.

It’s fun to settle in with your snacks and drinks while getting excited for the movie to start, and it’s entertaining to dive into another reality on a big screen.

have a park day.

I hope we all know that parks aren’t just for kids!

Parks are cool for roller skating, going on walks, riding a bike, taking a yoga class, having a picnic or cookout, etc.

There’s no better time than taking advantage of parks in your area than in the summer, and I want you to explore a fun, athletic activity this season!

forget your ex & situationships.

Hello! It’s summer time. If Megan Thee Stallion’s single this summer, that’s exactly where I want to be too.

Who wants to be sad over a boy when it’s warm outside and there’s a million things to get into??

It’s the best time for singles, and it’s the best time to be your fully healed self. Summers are about the girls and having fun. So don’t let a man or toxic relationship get in the way of your hot girl summer!

tour a gallery or museum.

Be a tourist for a day and explore a gallery or museum near you. I bet there’s some around you that you’ve always thought about going to, but never had the time or motivation to go.

So this is your sign to take yourself on a solo summer date to a gallery or museum! It’s so inspirational to see the art and learn something new.

go to a vineyard or wine tasting.

I love going to a winery in late summer as it’s slowly transitioning to fall. Vineyards are so pretty, and it’s so fun to dress up to go to one.

Although you see a good amount of couples and friend groups, I think it’s so worth it to go to a wine tasting solo and experience trying some new wines.
