solo valentine’s day things to do for singles
I’ve been single every Valentine’s Day for the past 26 years of my life, so I would say I’m a pro at turning the holiday into something special for myself.
Some years I’ve felt lonely and sad, and other times I’ve been grateful to have strong enough self worth to feel content with my single status. But the best years are when I embrace myself and romanticize Valentine’s Day as a single woman.
Valentine’s Day is the day to embrace the love in your life, and that should include the love you have for yourself too.
If you’re single on Valentine’s Day, you can romanticize the day and focus on self love by writing yourself a love letter, going on a solo date or buying chocolate and flowers.

reflect on your self love journey & write yourself a love letter
The past 365 days since last Valentine’s Day have been filled with ups and downs for myself. So I can imagine how everyone’s self love journeys and relationships with other people in their lives have been.
Take the day to reflect on what you’ve learned about yourself, your love language and how you want to grow as an individual over the next year. It’s a nice time to envision your goals and ambitions and do a check in on how the year is going so far.
You could write yourself a love letter of everything you’re proud of yourself for and all the things you love about yourself. Writing yourself a letter is so romantic and driven in self love.
buy yourself chocolate and flowers
At the end of the day, I’m a girl, and I like girly things. I love receiving flowers (and I used to not like them).
I love love love chocolate and sweets. But more than that, I love feeling like someone cares about me enough to get me those things.
So as Valentine’s Day approaches, be intentional about gifting yourself the special, sweet things you like to receive.
You can even order them in advance or have them delivered to your place.
You deserve to treat yourself in every season, but Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to show yourself some extra love and generosity.

take yourself on a solo date
Solo dates are so fun and magical. If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with them.
I love checking out a new coffee shop or going out to a restaurant for lunch.
You could take yourself out on a solo date to a movie, museum, nature walk, class, etc. The options are truly endless and depend on what you like.
Since it’s Valentine’s Day, maybe try taking a mini adventure or outing somewhere as a form of self care.
Treat yourself to an experience tailored to what you love and what will make you feel special on this holiday.
plan something with other single friends
I love having friends in relationships who can inspire me on what true and healthy love looks like.
It’s always motivated me not to settle, and they always come with great advice.
But there’s something about my single friends who always bring a spark and a fun time.
I love that they are always down to go out, and also have a little bit more free time to spend with me. They also just get single life and embrace it to the fullest.
There’s nothing like gathering your single friends up and planning something on Valentine’s Day or around the day to celebrate genuine friendship and love for your girlfriends.
I also love Galentine’s and look forward to the pinks, sweets and cocktails. It’s also nice to invite the friends who are in relationships to capitalize on sharing love with them all.

do a spa day
Treat your body with the love and care it deserves!
I love a good spa day, especially when it involves a massage or facial. Take advantage of the spa’s specialities and enjoy the peaceful time to yourself.
You can also create a nice at-home experience. Bring out the face masks, steamers and a cozy robe to treat yourself with an at-home spa day.
Go all out and make a trip to Sephora or Walmart to get some essentials and set your phone on DND to really take a trip away from reality.
Maybe set the mood with one of your favorite candles. Relax and soak in the moment with a de-stressing and unwinding experience for yourself.
