ways to celebrate international self care day

International Self Care Day is coming up on July 24, which means it’s time to gather the perfect activities and plans to make the best of the day.

You deserve a day filled with self care goodies, intentional time to unwind and rest, and activities to truly pamper yourself.

Here are some ways you can celebrate this self care day!

international self care day ideas:

make a “self care box” to open

Fill a box with a bunch of self care goodies for you to enjoy on International Self Care Day.

You can include bath bombs, tea packets, comfy socks, your favorite film, new pens to journal with, a gift card to your favorite cafe or restaurant, etc.

It’ll be exciting to open the box and have options to really enjoy the day. You know what you like more than anyone, so be creative in what you put into it!

go on a retreat.

There are various wellness, personal growth, spiritual, creative and other retreats that you can sign up for and attend that’ll allow you to unwind and escape reality to focus on bettering yourself.

Look up if there’s any local retreats in your area, or see if you can find one out of the state or country that piques your interest.

pamper yourself with a salon visit.

You either love maintenance days, or you hate them. But getting a nice silk press or blow out will always leave you in a great mood.

Getting a fresh nail set that you love is always going to make you feel glamorous.

This day focused on self care is perfect for pampering yourself, while making yourself feel beautiful.

plan a staycation.

I love staying at a hotel in my own city, especially for my birthday. International Self Care Day is the perfect excuse to stay at a nice hotel and take advantage of all the amenities.

Get a service or two done at the spa. Enjoy a nice meal at the hotel’s restaurant. Indulge in a drink if the hotel has a rooftop.

participate in a self love challenge.

A self love challenge could look like telling yourself one kind thing about yourself every hour, journaling three times a day with self love prompts, spending the day saying yes to things that excite you, etc.

Get creative and challenge yourself to do things you normally wouldn’t, solely to make yourself happy.

take a fitness class.

Whether it’s a yoga, pilates, strength training, spin or other fitness class, incorporating some physical activity in your day is a great way to show your body some care.

Wear your favorite workout set, or your favorite clothes to exercise in, and treat yourself to a nice smoothie or your go-to post workout meal.

soak up some sun.

The right amount of Vitamin D can feel so healing. Soak up some sunlight and set some intentional time to reflect on what you’re fortunate for in your life.

Plan a picnic to enjoy snacks in the sun, and maybe even a sip & paint. Tan on the beach or pool, especially since July is already so warm. Go on a long walk or hike to enjoy the weather and time in nature.

set intentional meditation and reflection time.

International Self Care Day is a great opportunity to reflect on the first half of the year and think about what you’re proud of yourself for, as well as areas in your life you want to improve on over the next year.

Set some time in the day to meditate and get in tune with yourself, so you can have a clear mindset and feel fully comfortable to give yourself all you deserve.
